Remodelers Advantage: Accountability in Kansas

The remodeler advantage meeting at Pinnacle Deisgn Build, in Kansas

I just got back from an incredible Remodelers Advantage Case Study at Pinnacle Homes...

in Wichita, KS on October 24, and I’m still processing everything I took away from it. These are the weeks where I meet with owners of nine other high functioning Design Build companies in my Roundtable and we review and refine our businesses, it’s an amazing group and is helping me transition into the company, and person, I want to be!

My week in Kansas was really focused on accountability...

not just why it matters, but how to actually build it into this business. Peg Buehrle, our facilitator, introduced some great tools that helped break it down into actionable steps. One that stood out to me was the Dissatisfaction Equation. It’s the idea that real change only happens when the dissatisfaction with where you are outweighs the resistance to doing something about it. That clicked for me. If the pain of staying the same isn’t greater than the effort it takes to change, we stall. Moving forward, I’m looking at how we can use that mindset to keep building a stronger, more accountable team at Cowdin Design + Build.

Gaining foundation

I also left excited about the growing role of AI in marketing. With usage up over 60 percent in the past year, there’s real opportunity to start leveraging it in a smart way…helping us better showcase our team, our process, and the work we’re so proud of.

And because work-life balance is important to this group too, we mixed in some fun with our three 12-hour learning days by wrapping things up with some very fun trap shooting and some seriously good Kansas BBQ sponsored by our host company, Pinnacle Homes.

For me, this trip was another powerful reminder of why Crystal remains our trusted cabinetry partner. Their craftsmanship, attention to detail, and commitment to doing things the right way aligns perfectly with our values at Cowdin Design + Build.

Every visit sharpens our knowledge and deepens our appreciation for what goes into truly exceptional cabinetry that will live in our client’s homes forever.

Great food, great company, and a little competition to top it all off!!

Grateful for this group, the conversations, and the push to keep growing.
