Luxury Lower Level Transformation
Project reference: Richmond
A walk-out lower level has the potential to become a destination within the home. For this project, we developed a space for entertaining, relaxing and accommodating overnight guests, with the finish quality and attention given to the living areas above.
A backlit onyx countertop gives the bar its defining feature. Custom lighting, Waterstone hardware and coordinated finishes build on that focal point, giving the entertaining area a distinct personality.
The plan also makes room for more private use. A bedroom with an egress window and a full bathroom create a dedicated place for guests, extending the lower level’s usefulness beyond an evening of entertaining.
Inviting lounge space balances the bar and guest accommodations. Together, these functions allow the lower level to support different occasions without relying on one large, undifferentiated room.
The completed space shows how carefully planned lower levels can contribute to the life of a home. Its appeal comes from the combination of a memorable gathering place and practical rooms that make a longer visit comfortable.
